Expressivity

Plurality

Name just one candidate. Then shut up. We're not interested in any more. (Least information you could possibly express, aside from zero.)

IRV

Rank the candidates in order. But if you want to say two candidates are equal? Or that you have no opinion about, e.g, two judge candidates, but have opinions about the others? Or that you prefer Tom over Hitler by a lot more than you prefer Alice over Tom? Sorry! You have no way to do those things.

Range Voting

Any score 0-99 for every candidate. Both good? Both bad? Equal? Big differences? Small differences? No problem. Candidates you want to express no opinion about? No problem – you can say so ("intentional blank") and then that candidate's score will be purely determined by the other voters just as if you did not exist.
